Power Calculations

V = Voltage (volts)
I = Current (amps)
R = Resistance (Ohms)

Example

To find the voltage  V = I x R

To find the Current  I = V÷ R

P = Power (watts)
V = Voltage (volts)
I = Current (amps)

To find the Power or number of watts P = V x I

To find the Current or Amps I = P ÷ V

Example

To find the current (amps) for a 100W domestic Light bulb

100w ÷ 230v = 0.43 Amps
